JOB DESCRIPTION
The Transmission Line Engineer is responsible for preparation and completion of discipline engineering designs and supporting documentation such as calculations. Coordinates, prepares and checks calculations, specifications, reports, design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas. Helps supervise, schedule and check work of project team members as required. Interfaces with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects as required. Responsible for adhering to project scope, schedule and budget on all assigned projects. May occasionally supervise and schedule work of other team members. Performs other duties assigned by Principal Engineers or Engineering Manager. Registration as a Professional Engineer is desirable for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works at the direction of a project engineer/manager.
- Performs QA/QC checks of designs, documents, and calculations.
- Mentors less experienced engineers, designers, and technicians.
- Interfaces with the Client at meetings and in the field.
- Able to direct other engineers, designers, and technicians on project needs and provide solutions to engineering challenges.
- Promotes the company culture and is Safety Minded.
- Promotes Quality in all aspects of transmission line design.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience.
- Experience in transmission line design.
- Proficient in the use of PLS-CADD & PLS-Pole.
- Proficient in interpretation of NESC Code and Client Design Requirements.
- EIT or PE is a plus.
